Brooklyn chopped her hair!

On July 8th, Brooklyn got her hair cut!  She had been wanting to cut it for a while and Kev and I kept encouraging her to keep it long because it was so beautiful.

However, a little while back I talked to Kevin's aunt and she told me that her daughter-in-law had cut her hair and sold it online.  So we figured, what the heck, what do we have to lose?  We listed Brooklyn's hair online and within a day or two she received an offer from a lady who makes porcelain dolls.  Brooklyn was thrilled!

So, we got 14" of her hair cut off, sent her ponytail in the mail, and she got paid.  She had so much fun going shopping and buying a bunch of new clothes and toys (we did have her save part of the money too!)  She kept saying, "I can't believe I'm able to buy all of these things in exchange for my hair!"  "How cool!"  It was a fun experience for her and her brothers were very jealous and wished they could sell their hair too!

Sawtooth Relay Race 2010!

On June 12th, we headed up to Idaho so Kev could run in the Sawtooth Relay race.  It has become an annual tradition for his family.  It is a 62 mile race that starts in Stanley, ID and ends in Ketchum.  It is a GORGEOUS race!

Kevin's family organized 3 teams to run.  Two teams with 6 people and one with 5.  Kev's team was the one with 5 (Kev, his brother Neil, Neil's wife, Diane, my sister, Holly, and a friend of the family, Kate).  I of course couldn't run, but came up anyway to provide moral support!

We drove up the night before and they started their race around 5:00 AM the next morning.  I met them at the finish line and cheered them on!  It was fun and I hope to run it WITH them next year!

Excited, at the starting line (Holly, Diane, Neil, Kate, Kevin)
Ready, set, GO!  Neil ran the first leg.

Kev again...this looks like he's running up hill, but he's actually running down!  Funky.

Jacob's Blessing Day!

On June 6, 2010 Jacob Glen Banner was blessed.  It was a great day.  Kev's parents and brother and his family came down for the occasion and it was so fun to spend time with them.  All of my family who live in Utah were able to come and Kev's good friend and old missionary companion, Luis and his family came as well.  It made the day so special.

Although it was Jacob's "Blessing" day, it gave me an opportunity to reflect on all of the "blessings" I have as well.  I am so grateful to be married to a man who I love so much, who honors his Priesthood and can bless our little babies.  I'm also so grateful to be a member of the church and to have such a wonderful family.  Life is good!

I love this sweet precious little baby.
All of our kids have used this blanket on their Blessing days.

 2 Grandmas

Brooklyn with cousins and friends

Poor little Benjamin was very tired.  He was going, going...

 GONE!

 Jacob with his parents.
I told Kev that I thought we looked like old parents in this picture.  Freaky.

After all of the blessing day hype was over, we sat outside with Kev's parents and enjoyed the nice evening.  The kids enjoyed climbing on the light poles and street signs (I don't know what prompted that, but they had fun!)...
and the weather was very cool...

Derek hijacked my camera

Okay, back in May Derek was playing with his cars one day. He organized them and asked if he could take a picture. I said, "sure."

So here ya go...

Then I look at the camera, and see the following pictures as well...

Yes, he was blessed with the "I can roll my tongue" gene...

I had to laugh as I saw these pictures. They are uh, er, uh...very Derek. He is very full of it!

Well a few days later, he asked to take another picture of his cars. Here it is...

That's all.

Fun pictures of the kids

In May I took some pictures of the kids. Tyler is 11, Brooklyn is 9, Derek is 6 1/2, Benjamin is 2, and Jacob is 6 weeks...

There is something funky going on with this picture because Benjamin looks just as big, if not bigger, than Derek! Benjamin is a big boy, but I assure you he is no where near the size of D!

4 brothers...

Later on that day, Kev took some fun pics of Ben riding his trike. Notice, he doesn't really ride it, he just walks along as he's sitting on it.

Notice the lovely children playing on the garbage can in the background. Yes, that would be Derek (of course) and the neighbor kids.

Here's a close-up. Derek was born climbing!
